Web Design & Content Creation

Miss Daisy Patterns

PROJECT OUTLINE

Miss Daisy Patterns is primarily an eCommerce shop retailing instantly downloadable sewing patterns, designed exclusively for the platform.

I initially built the first shop on the Prestashop platform and the main website/blog on Joomla.

Mid 2015 I migrated the shop and blog to WordPress & Woocommerce.

Online Sewing Content for Miss Daisy Patterns

In order to drive traffic through to Miss Daisy Patterns’ eCommerce shop, I developed a series of free online sewing patterns and tutorials designed to increase the website’s domain authority and generate quality links via the patterns being shared and linked on blogs, pinterest and on a variety of sewing aggregates.

Each pattern utilised a variety of disciplines from photography, to pattern drafting in Adobe illustrator, alongside the necessary sewing and writing skills.

As a long-term strategy to drive traffic to the website it had been very successful, one of the content rich tutorials alone attracting in excess of 83,000 visitors to the site.

Each content rich tutorial contains a selection of unique images and text with a downloadable PDF sewing pattern for printing on a domestic printer.

Other content areas developed included a YouTube channel featuring Miss Daisy Patterns tutorials again linking back to the main eCommerce shop website. Visit the Channel here. All the video content is devised, created, shot and edited by Tin Kite team.

Print – Sewing Magazines

Alongside online content creation I also created sewing patterns for a selection of UK based printed sewing magazines including Mollie Makes and Simply Sewing.
